Each year in the month of Rajab, the seventh month of the Islamic calendar, Muslims take part in i’tikaf rituals that are mostly held in mosques.
Muslims congregate in mosques to seek spirituality by secluding themselves from the material life, fasting and saying prayers on Rajab 13-15 (January 15-17 this year).
During the three days, starting with the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), people worship and establish a relationship with God.
The following photos show the rituals held in a number of mosques in East Azarbaijan Province.
It should be noted that, due to the pandemic, all the related health protocols were observed.
